Years ago, the flowage was formed by the Excel Energy company Hydroelectric Dam in downtown Gile. Since the energy company owns the actually shoreline, no permanent structures are allowed on the shore, giving the Gile Flowage its scenic beauty. Many compare it to Canada or the Boundary waters for its beautiful islands, forests and rock formations. However, water levels can fluctuate seasonally, but there is always plenty of water to recreate on. In fact, this water fluctuation tends to keep the Gile Flowage attractive for its serenity and “silent” water sports. Swim off our dock, firm bottom with some gravel/rocks. No diving! Very safe gradual drop off. Water depth is our bay is 7' max. Great fishing on the Gile Flowage, which is a “Class A” Muskie water. Also plenty of Walleye, Large and Smallmouth bass, Northern and panfish! WINTER: The Hurley, Wis./Ironwood MI. area is the Snow capital of Wis. with an average snowfall of 200 inches, due to Lake Superior. Minutes away from all the major downhill ski hills like: WhiteCap Mt. Big Powderhorn, Indianhead Mt. etc. etc. Iron County is also famous for its many scenic waterfalls and hiking trails. There are also miles and miles of snowmobiling/ATV and XC Ski/Snowshoe trails. In fact Iron County Snowmo./ATV Trail #13 goes right down our road! You can go for a couple hundred miles right out of our driveway!! SORRY, NO PETS ALLOWED. NOTICE: As our fourth season of renting our new cabin is winding down, we have learned a lot and have reviewed our rental costs vs rental income. Everyone wants to stay at THE LOVE SHACK!! Location, Location, Location! This 3 bedroom house is only one block off Silver Street. You can park and walk to all the dining and drinking adventures in downtown Hurley! My property adjoins the snowmobile and 4-wheel trail. There is no need to load and reload your sleds and 4 wheelers! If you are renting sleds or 4 wheelers you can ride them right to the back door!! Skiers! This house was our get-away ski cottage for the last 13 years! Now the kids are all grown up and we don’t get to use it as often. Right down the road is Big Powderhorn, Black jack, Indian Head or White Cap Ski resorts. The Cross Country trails are also so beautiful up here! The house will sleep 6 in beds. There is also a sofa that while it is not a “sleeper”, it is long and wide and comfortable, for one more person. Amenities include an electric custom built boot dryer! We have a TV that is hooked up to DVD player. We have Cable and WIfi!! Hairdryer, curling iron supplied. The kitchen has an electric glass top range. Nice dishes and pots and pans and bake ware should you decide to prepare your own feast. Small appliances like microwave, wok, crockpot, and mixers are there too. We are just a short drive from all the hiking trails in the UP! Fishermen, Lake Gogebic and the Gile Flowage are just down the road! Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or just want to get away and relax and shop and dine you won’t be disappointed when you stay at the Love Shack! Tenants must be 25 years old to stay here unless they are accompanied by and adult that is responsible for their actions! A cleaning fee of $50.00 is added to all stays. Hurley has imposed a 5% room tax that I will collect through VRBO after booking separately.

Premiere Ski In/Ski Out House on the main run at Whitecap. Five Bedrooms and three Bathrooms with over 3500 square feet of open concept living space and two car garage. This house has everything regardless of the season. In the winter there is no better location at Whitecap. You can ski in and out right from the convenience of the front door making it easy to take breaks during your ski day. In the summer you are less than 100 yards from the #1 Tee @Skye Golf. Other activities include hiking, biking, canoeing/kayaking, etc. When its not winter, spend time on the full length deck or around the outdoor fire pit. When you are inside there is plenty of gathering space for a large crowd with a dining table capable of sitting 12 people for meals or games plus additional seating at the kitchen island. The houses accommodates up to 16 people in beds plus sofas and air mattresses and ample floor space. There are five complete bedrooms (2-Queen, 2-Full and Bunk Room w/ 6 Singles. In the lower level there is also a full size futon that sleeps 2. There are also three full baths (4 pc MBR, two other bathrooms one equipped with walk in shower and other with tub/shower combo) and a large laundry room. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook anything you want for large or small groups. There is more than enough serving plates and utensils for groups of at least 25. The great room is equipped with a raised hearth wood burning fireplace which is the centerpiece of the open concept main floor. The home has two TVs with DISH Network however there is no internet at the house but internet is available just a short walk in the Whitecap Main Bldg and Lodge. Also available at the house are kayaks, a canoe, a 5 person Kawasaki Mule plus more. ALERT: 4 Wheel Drive Required to Get Up the Hill to the House in the Winter.

High quality appliances, cooking utensils, and dinner ware. We supply all the towels, bedding, and toilet paper. You bring paper plates, paper towels, kleenex and napkins etc. Rowboat, paddleboat, 2 Kayaks, and a canoe included for your use. Pontoon boat rental is available on the lake. (Ask for details) The swimming area is only fair. There is no beach. We swim around the pier where the bottom is a mix of sand and gravel. Water shoes are recommended. The water is very clean.

We just completed the remodel on this beautiful 3 bedroom one bathroom cabin. Two bedrooms feature queen size log beds and one bedroom has two full size beds. Comfortable living room with a 50" tv. Turn on the gas fireplace to warm up after a day of snowmobiling. You will fall in love with the view from the deck, overlooking the Turtle River. You can park your vehicles in the driveway and ride your snowmobiles 1/2 a mile to the trail. The basement is under remodel and is not available for rent at this time.

This room is accessible from the hallway and access to the basement is through this room. OUTDOOR DECK: The raised deck spans the entire lake side of the home. There are 2 patio dining tables overlooking the lake for you to enjoy a meal while taking in the scenery. PORCH: The porch is surrounded by screened-in windows and has many seating arrangements with a full view of the lake. GRILL & DECK DINING: There is a brand new Weber gas grill with propane provided.
